Our research aims to develop and advance scientific understanding with the potential to deliver social and economic benefits for everyone.

We believe strongly in sharing our research and knowledge widely to promote lifelong health and wellbeing. In addition to publicising our recent research findings, we work with the media to support the inclusion of evidence-based research into various public interest and current affairs topics.

By communicating our research, we aim to:

  • Promote research at the ̨Íåswag ̨Íåswag and communicate how our work benefits society
  • Raise the public profile of the ̨Íåswag as a world-class centre for life science research excellence and expertise
  • Take an active role in informing public dialogue with evidence-based research relevant to key social and political issues

Scientific seminars and ̨Íåswag events

Our welcomes a diversity of speakers from around the world, allowing us to hear about the latest research techniques and findings in areas that connect to our own research. Our public engagement team run regular events for schools, science festivals and public groups.

The ̨Íåswag’s Communications team works to support our researchers and share engaging information about the ̨Íåswag, its people, discoveries and impact. Science Storytime: Maya's Marvellous Medicine

Who said that science and literacy don't mix? Maya’s Marvellous Medicine’ is the third children’s book by immunologist Prof. Adrian Liston and illustrated by artist Dr Sonia Agüera-Gonzalez. The book sees Maya learn about the cells that make up our immune system and how vaccinations prepare these cells for battle.
